See a Bloom, Give It Room

Join the Harmful Algal Bloom Video Challenge for a chance to win prizes and be part of the solution. Winning videos will be posted on the EPA website and social media.

For a chance to win, create a video that teaches people how to spot harmful algal blooms and how to be safe around them.

Entrants must be students in grades 9 through 12 and live in one of the following EPA Region 7 or Region 8 areas:
Region 7: Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, or one of nine tribal nations (listed here).
Region 8: Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado or one of 27 tribal nations (listed here).

Open Period:
The Challenge began Sept. 19, 2019. All video entries must be submitted in digital format by 11 p.m. EST on Jan. 3, 2020.
