NH LAKES 2018 Lakes Congress
May 31, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - June 1, 2018 @ 7:00 pm CDT
$55 – $65The 2018 Lakes Congress—our 25th annual education, training, and networking event—is designed for lake and other natural resource stewards, lake managers, business leaders, and municipal and political leaders to gain knowledge and skills to educate, advocate, and organize to protect the New Hampshire’s 1,000 lakes and ponds. This year’s event will celebrate the history of lake culture in New Hampshire while specifically focusing on current and emerging threats that must be addressed during the next 25 years to preserve our lakes. The event will be held at the exquisite Church Landing Inn at Mills Falls in Meredith along the shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee on the evening of Thursday, May 31, and all-day on Friday, June 1. The two-day event will draw approximately 250 attendees.
The event will kick-off with a fascinating presentation—“Summer Camps on New Hampshire’s Lakes: Roots of An Iconic American Experience”—given by the curatorial team from the Museum of the White Mountains.
Ken Wagner, President and Manager of Water Resource Services, and former President of the North American Lake Management Society, will kick off Friday’s session with a dynamic keynote address “Climate Change and Lakes: What You Really Need to Know.”
