The bald eagle, with its snowy-feathered, brown body, and hooked yellow beak, has been the proud national emblem of the United States since 1782. Once endangered, the bald eagle has become a wildlife success story with rigorous conservation efforts including the restriction of the use of DDT and reintroduction programs. In 2007, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service removed the bald eagle from the endangered list. There have been several nesting bald eagles on Lake Hopatcong over the past few years.

Bob has been photographing the eagles on Lake Hopatcong for many years and will share his photographs along with details about these birds of prey including some of their interesting quirks and how an eagle’s nest changes over the years.
