Bidding starts on Monday, November 15. All proceeds support student conference attendance and student NALMS memberships.

Please consider participating in the annual silent auction either as a bidder or by donating an item to the auction. Bids will be placed during the week of the virtual symposium and all proceeds will go to the Eberhardt Memorial Student Fund which supports student travel scholarships and other student programs. A note from our Student Director:

NALMS student members are asking for your support! Each year at the annual NALMS symposium the student members organize a silent auction with items donated by NALMS members, companies, non-profit groups, and individuals. These donated items will be offered to conference attendees via an online silent auction, with items going to the highest bidders. Proceeds of the silent auction support NALMS students through travel grants to attend conferences and waive registration fees. Since 2005, we have raised over $70k to support 120 students to attend annual symposia and become involved in NALMS. This year, we are hoping to fundraise enough to cover the registration fee for all students interested in participating. 

To continue providing support to our student members we are asking for your help. Past items donated have included field and laboratory equipment, environmental test kits, water quality monitoring sondes, food items, and art made personally by members. If possible, we ask that you consider including shipping cost in your donations; however, NALMS is happy to work with donors to make sure the item is shipped to the winning bidder. About the Eberhardt Memorial Student Fund

NALMS founded the Eberhardt Memorial Student Fund to honor the lives of Tom and Elinor Eberhardt. Tom and Elinor were proud supporters of NALMS, dedicated and dependable corporate members and good friends to all of us in the NALMS family.

The Eberhardt Memorial Student Fund supports NALMS’ student programs including travel grants for students to present the results of graduate-level research at NALMS’ International Symposium. Student presenters may use these grants to help cover the costs of Symposium registration fees, travel, and/or overnight accommodations.
