EVOLVED Town Hall

EVOLVED (Embed a Vision to Operationalize, Lift up, and Value Equity and Diversity) is a National Science Foundation-funded program that embeds the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and justice into the backbone of the Consortium of Aquatic Sciences Societies (CASS). In 2024 the EVOLVED leadership team is holding town hall meetings to introduce EVOLVED at the meetings of the individual CASS societies. The EVOLVED team is looking forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas on how EVOLVED can assist NALMS operate according to the JEDI (justice, equity, diversity and inclusion) principles!

Tahoe Science Advisory Council Meeting

The Tahoe Science Advisory Council is an independent group of scientists who work collaboratively to advise policy makers to promote, enhance, and maintain the ecological integrity of the Lake Tahoe and its watershed. The Council will hold its regular meeting on November 7, 2024 at the Tahoe Blue Event Center (room TBD) from 2:45-4:45PM.

Join Tahoe Science Advisory Council members on November 7, 2024 at Margaritaville from 5:00-7:00 PM for an informal mixer and network with scientists engaged in informing management decisions at Lake Tahoe. Mingle with members from UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, the University of Nevada, Reno, the Desert Research Institute, the USFS Pacific Southwest Research Station, and the US Geological Survey and hear about the Council’s latest work.

National Lakes Assessment Breakfast

Friday, November 8th | 7:00 am – 8:00 am

The NLA reports on the condition of the nation’s lakes over time with the use of core chemical, physical and biological indicators that are implemented every survey cycle. NLA has also supported research indicators for one or more cycles of the survey. This special session will discuss the current NLA research and the Steering Committee process that will be used to review proposals for the 2027 survey.
