The theme in this issue of LakeLine, of course, is freshwater toxic algae. Guest Editor Ann St. Amand has assembled an impressive array of authors and articles for you. The articles presented here were all authored by presenters at a special session on “Toxic Blue-Green Algae” held at the NALMS annual symposium November 9, 2005 in Madison, WI, USA. Due to LakeLineʼs wider, more management-oriented audience, some authors chose to highlight case studies, while others wrote shorter versions of longer, more in-depth articles that also appeared in a special issue of the Journal of Lake and Reservoir Management devoted to toxic blue-greens.
