Request for NALMS Student Video Series: “Lake Mixing and Stratification”

NALMS is seeking videos of “Lake Mixing and Stratification” for inclusion in the video series hosted on the NALMS YouTube channel and website.

In addition to the basic requirements (which can be found in the Video Evaluation Rubric), this video must also cover:

  • Lake stratification: laboratory or animated visual example encouraged
  • Explanation of the thermocline, epilimnion, and hypolimnion
  • Lake mixing: Audio-visual explanation of fall overturn and spring stratification
  • Seiche: Audio-visual explanation of wind-induced seiche movement
  • Brief explanation of chemical environment in stratified and mixed lakes
  • Brief explanation of water density characteristics

DEADLINE for video submissions – March 1, 2017.
