We're looking for articles to fill the summer and fall issues of LakeLine, based on the themes summarized below: Summer 2020: Back to Basics – This issue will cover a variety of topics related to the basics of lake and watershed management, function, biology/ecology, etc., to be a resource for our lake and watershed association members of NALMS. Topics could include basics of limnology, basics of watersheds and watershed management, functions and activities of lake and/or watershed associations, an article on common issues of concern for lake and watershed residents/members, and more. 2019 Summer LakeLine issue on Harmful Algal Blooms

Every other year, the summer issue of NALMS LakeLine focuses on what is currently going on in terms of cyanobacteria research, technologies, and advisories. It seems like HABs are occurring at an ever-increasing frequency, with Lake Erie’s large and long-lived bloom well-publicized in the media in recent years, and fears lingering of another such epic bloom. Topics in the 2019 summer issue include the detection of cyanobacteria with satellites, a well-developed monitoring program on Lake Champlain, and the importance of studying benthic cyanobacteria.

Spring LakeLine (Student Issue) Now Available!

Happy spring! We are excited to launch the first wholly electronic version of LakeLine Magazine (perhaps we should start calling it e-LakeLine)! This issue marks NALMS’ movement away from paper copies of LakeLine, in an effort to have a greener footprint and to reduce costs in production for our non-profit organization. The North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) seeks an editor for LakeLine Magazine, a quarterly publication that informs and educates readers about current issues regarding lakes and lake management.  Issues are theme-based with all of the articles addressing a specific topic.  Most NALMS members primarily receive the magazine in print. The ideal candidate must possess: A bachelor's degree or higher in the water resources field. Working knowledge of NALMS and its history. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
