We're looking for articles to fill the summer and fall issues of LakeLine, based on the themes summarized below:
Summer 2020: Back to Basics – This issue will cover a variety of topics related to the basics of lake and watershed management, function, biology/ecology, etc., to be a resource for our lake and watershed association members of NALMS. Topics could include basics of limnology, basics of watersheds and watershed management, functions and activities of lake and/or watershed associations, an article on common issues of concern for lake and watershed residents/members, and more.

NALMS 2019: Watershed Moments
NALMS and the New England Chapter of NALMS welcomed more than 600 attendees from throughout the US, Canada and seven other countries to a snowy Burlington, Vermont November 11–15 for NALMS’ 39th International Symposium.
The week started on Monday with a very full day of 15 workshops and a field trip. In addition to the traditional pre-symposium workshops, Monday’s program included a Lake & Watershed Stewards Program designed for volunteer lake leaders such as conservation commission members, lake and watershed group leaders and members, lakeside residents, as well as volunteer monitors and program coordinators. The annual election for officers and directors is an important way for NALMS members to provide input in the management of the Society. Our officers and directors are all volunteers who serve without pay. Nominations for 2019 Election are being accepted at this time!
NALMS is seeking candidates that will add diversity and breadth to the Board and its committees.
You could become a nominee for a position on the NALMS Board of Directors, to take a more active role in steering the direction of activities that relate to these precious resources. Experience or training in lake management is not required for a board position, and we encourage candidates with expertise in nonprofit management, leadership development, marketing, fundraising, legal issues and membership growth and development to consider running for a Board position.

NALMS 2019 Call for Special Sessions & Workshops
The 2019 North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) symposium will be held in Burlington, Vermont on November 10-15. This symposium traditionally brings together a wide spectrum of lake researchers, managers and enthusiasts. Presentations cover the range of limnological and watershed topics, addressing science, economics and institutional aspects of lake management. Groups of 3-4 presentations are given sequentially in a session of 90 minutes, with 3-4 sessions in a daily track and 5 concurrent tracks. Topics may extend through multiple sessions on one or more days, targeting November 12-14, 2019.

NALMS Seeks Editor-in-Chief for Lake and Reservoir Management
The Board of Directors of the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) seeks letters of interest from individuals wishing to serve as the next Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of the society’s peer-reviewed publication, Lake and Reservoir Management (LRM).
LRM publishes original,previously-unpublished studies relevant to lake and reservoir management. LRM addresses the management of lakes and reservoirs, their watersheds and tributaries, along with the limnological and ecological analyses needed for the sound management of such systems.
