Join Asbury Woods’ for hands-on, minds-on nature and science-based activities every Thursday at different city parks throughout the summer. With different activities each week, families can discover underwater creatures, explore parks through scavenger hunts, act like busy bees, and much more. Thanks to a partnership with Hooked on Books for Kids, each child will receive a free book at each event.

Explore the ecosystems at Asbury Woods with a different theme each week, rain or shine, so be sure to dress for an outdoor adventure.

Garden Seedlings
Each session will revolve around a topic that is sure to captivate young explorers! We also provide sensory activities, crafts, and games to make environmental education come alive.
The Wizard of the Woods has awakened from his long winter slumber, and he is excited to share some magic with the youngsters. His stories and legends are sure to leave everyone spellbound!

They say that oil and water don't mix and that is especially true in nature. See if you can help clean up our mock oil spill and help keep all the animals safe! Join us for the mash of science and art. Just by using water and its amazing molecular properties, we can separate ink into its different parts.
WALPA Student Scholarship Applications Due
In 2022, the Washington Lakes Protection Association will offer three student scholarships.
The Nancy Weller Memorial Scholarship for a Ph.D. graduate student for $1,250.
The Dave Lamb Memorial Scholarship for a M.Sc. graduate student for $1,000.
The WALPA scholarship to an undergraduate student for $500.
All three scholarships will also provide additional funds to cover registration and two nights’ accommodation for each recipient at the annual meeting.
Student scholarships will be awarded to further our understanding of the limnology, hydrology, ecology, management, and restoration of lakes in Washington and Idaho. Applicants must ...
